Leia gave birth to 8 BEAUTIFUL babies on Thursday night:  2 black bi males, 1 black tri male, 2 blue merle males (might have blue bi coloring), 1 black bi female, and 2 blue merle females. 

Dawn called bright and early on Thursday morning, Leia was panting, digging and her temperature dropped below 99 degrees.  That usually means the pups will arrive in the next 24 hours.  The plan was to deliver the pups at our house, so she and Leia hopped in the truck and started driving.  Luckily there were no puppies on the drive over!  They arrived, and all of Leia's signs of labor disappeared!  We went to vet to get an x-ray and count pups, 7-9 cuties in the x-ray, but the vet said that she wouldn't have pups today.  We decided to kick back and relax.  Bill cooked up some swordfish and steak on the grill, and we had a fantastic meal in the porch room and drank "Sasquatch" wine. 

After dinner we decided to let Leia out to potty, and wouldn't you know it?  She had a black bi boy right out there by the agility dog walk - Eddie's mini me.  Angie's screaming for Bill to run inside and grab towels - Dawn is frantically checking in the yard to see if Leia had any other pups in the yard.  Leia of course had it all together and knew what to do.  Talk about a  surprise delivery!  We got Leia and her baby in the house, and she proceeded to deliver 7 more cuties in a record time of 2 hours and 9 minutes.  She is a perfect mama.

The pups are now thriving and growing in Fort Wayne, IN with Jeff, Dawn & Mitchell.  The Mullins are so pleased with their added family members.  Their kennel name is Agapo, which suits them perfectly.  Agapo means "I love", and never have 2 dogs and 8 pups been loved so much. 

Wow - 8 pups in 2 hours 9 minutes.  Is that some kind of record?  I think I'll take a nap.
